Roy John Martin

Position: Associate Attorney

Roy John Martin is an Associate Attorney at National Litigation Law Group.  Prior to joining the firm, he served as General Counsel of the Oklahoma Department of Consumer Credit, an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Oklahoma and was an Assistant General Counsel for the Oklahoma Insurance Department.  He has extensive experience in consumer financial services law with a particular emphasis on licensing and compliance matters involving non-depository financial institutions.

  • Thirteen years’ experience in administrative law proceedings which includes prosecuting violations of consumer protection laws and regulatory requirements on behalf of the State of Oklahoma
  • Former member of the Mortgage Testing and Education Board which oversees the national testing and education requirements for mortgage loan originators
  • Primarily responsible for drafting the Oklahoma Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act and accompanying regulations, which serve as the regulatory framework for the mortgage industry in Oklahoma
  • Helped develop Oklahoma’s first comprehensive mortgage examinations for mortgage brokers and mortgage lenders
  • Instrumental in assisting the Department of Consumer Credit achieve mortgage supervision accreditation by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors and the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators
